As a parent through both IVF and adoption, I am well-positioned to advocate for and realistically address the challenges of both paths to parenthood. Over the years, I have delivered keynote speeches, conducted webinars, engaged with the media, and written for fertility clinics on this topic. It is a complex, emotional, and under-resourced area that I am passionate about highlighting. More than ever, I am convinced that we should never use the phrase "Just adopt" as a solution to infertility. This phrase diminishes everyone involved and reduces the issues to a mere hashtag or campaign. Adoptive families and all those involved deserve much more respect and understanding.
